STS
Has Gone to the Dogs!
Software Testing Solutions has proudly
contributed an additional $20,000 to the Millan
Foundation. Founded by Cesar Millan, the Dog
Whisperer, this national, non-profit 501(c)(3)
foundation is designed to aid and support the rescue,
rehabilitation, and placement of abused and abandoned
dogs. Jennifer Lyle, founder and Director of
Business Development got to spend a half day with Cesar,
watching the filming of an upcoming episode and talking
with Cesar.
"Cesar is a tremendously dedicated
individual. From his education of people to his
efforts to benefit needy dog shelters and rescue centers
throughout the United States, he is making a measurable
difference in the lives of dogs and we are honored to be
able to support his mission. And he is just as
kind and polite and professional in person as he is on
The Dog Whisperer television series.", said
Lyle.
Lyle practices Cesar's methods with her
pack of dogs which includes two Chow-crosses, an
Australian Shepherd, and a dominant Jack Russell
Terrier. Learn more about the Millan Foundation by

Testing Solutions Invests in the Future of Local Teens
STS Donates $500 to Youth on Their Own
Our
company’s mission is to give our customers the best
product and technical support available in the industry,
which in turn enhances their work experience. Another
important goal is to support charitable organizations
that focus on improving the lives of others. In
September, Software Testing Solutions proudly presented
a check in the amount of $500 to Tucson’s “Youth on Their Own”. For
over 20 years, this worthy group has assisted young,
homeless women and men ages 13 through 21 who are
struggling to continue their education. A staggering 30%
of all ninth grade students are unable to achieve their
goal of earning a high school diploma. The reasons are
many and include the lack of a parent or guardian, an
unstable or non-existent home environment, substance
abuse and unplanned teen pregnancy. Those accepted into
the Youth on Their Own program sign a contract pledging
to attend school regularly, maintain a C average, engage
in volunteer activities and/or after-school programs and
remain drug-free. Once again, Software Testing Solutions
looks to the future and helps those along the way.

Company
donates $6,000 to the So. AZ Humane Society in time of
need
On
Wednesday, March 12th, 2008, Southern
Arizonans watched the news in horror at the discovery of
approximately 800 dogs in a triple wide mobile home in
Avra Valley, AZ, just up the road from
Tucson.
The dogs were small breed dogs,
from chihuahuas to terriers and pomeranians. They were found
living in deplorable conditions. The floor was
soaked with urine and feces, and some dogs were missing
paws due to animal attacks, or having been caught in
fencing.
Some of the female dogs were pregnant and were in
the middle of labor during their transit to various
shelters.
Fortunately, most of the dogs were found in
pretty good shape, but all were in need of some degree
of medical attention, a vaccination and plenty of
TLC.
752 dogs
were confiscated that day, of which 100 went to a rescue
shelter in Phoenix and 300 were
sent to rescue groups throughout the nation. The remaining
dogs were taken in by The Humane Society of Southern
Arizona. Accommodating this large amount of dogs would
have been a daunting task on its’ own, unfortunately,
the HSSAZ was already struggling to shelter a group of
about 150 pit bulls who had been confiscated back in
February from breeders who were training them to
fight. Despite discouraging conditions, the Humane
Society of Southern Arizona not only managed to shelter
this overwhelming number of dogs, it also managed to
find homes for all the affected animals found in the
Avra Valley hoarding incident. (We are saddened
to say that not all of the pit bulls were quite as
lucky.)
The HSSAZ
credits the Tucson and neighboring
communities for their generous contributions and their
willingness to open their homes and hearts during this
horrific event. Although the Humane Society handled this
operation in stride, it will ultimately end up costing
them over $400,000. As avid animal
lovers here at STS, we couldn’t sit back and watch such
a tragedy occur in our own backyard without getting
involved. Knowing that the Society operates solely on
donations, it was our pleasure to donate $6000.00 as our
way of giving back to this extremely worthwhile
cause. We
wish there was more we could do in an effort to help
those animals who have not yet been
adopted.
